FACTS
According to Wednesday night polls by RealClearPolitics, Joe Biden holds a 4.2-point lead and 6.7-point lead over President Trump in the swing states of Wisconsin and Michigan, respectively.
RIGHT
Some on the right are worried, others are optimistic. An article from conservative political blog Hot Air stated that “if Trump were offering an iron fist against rioters *and* an extended hand to peaceful anti-racism protesters,” then things might look more promising for Trump. National Review correspondent John McCormack wrote that despite Biden’s current lead looking similar to Hillary Clinton’s in 2016, Biden seems to have a stronger campaign than Clinton did in the same states. Additionally, he pointed out that that polling data is far more extensive this election season and, therefore, more accurate. However, conservative columnist Ed Morrissey believes that Biden’s decision to largely campaign online could result in a “Democratic déjà vu” – meaning a win for Trump in swing states such as Michigan and Wisconsin. He argues it could ultimately alter the entire election. Activist Michael Coudrey tweeted that the media’s desperate attempts to sabotage Trump is evidence that “#BidenIsBehind.”
LEFT
Some on the left are worried, others are optimistic. One reporter wrote that she understood why Biden’s campaign strategy is mostly digital and online (coronavirus pandemic) but feared that the effects could be grave:
“The juxtaposition of Trump’s loud and proud campaign and Biden’s invisible digital operation makes some Democrats increasingly anxious… ‘Some of the same people that said everything was okay four years ago are the same people saying everything’s okay now.’”
Charlotte Alter, Time Magazine correspondent
Other Democratic officials and campaign members have agreed. However, Macomb County Democratic Committee Chair Ed Bruley expressed his optimism that Biden would win Michigan. Elections analyst Jeffrey Skelley wrote that “Trump very much remains in contention, but he is an underdog for reelection at this point.”
This election is MUCH CLOSER than the polls indicate.

And still people are insistent on doing what the hell they want to do instead of what they should do to defeat Trump.
It’s much closer than you realize.
