FACTS
Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron announced Wednesday that Brett Hankison, one of the three officers involved in the case of Breonna Taylor, has been indicted on “three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.” Cameron stated that according to Kentucky law, “the grand jury decided homicide charges are not applicable because the investigation showed that [Sgt. Jonathan] Mattingly and [Detective Myles] Cosgrove were justified in returning deadly fire after they were fired upon.”
“In our system, criminal justice isn’t the quest for revenge, it’s the quest for truth, evidence, and facts, and the use of that truth as we fairly apply our laws. Our reaction to the truth today says what kind of society we want to be. Do we really want the truth? Or do we want a truth that fits our narrative? Do we want the facts? Or are we content to blindly accept our own version of events?”

LEFT
The Left is outraged and believes the decision is anything but just. Civil Rights Attorney Ben Crump said the decision is “outrageous and offensive.” Martin Luther King III, a human rights advocate, wrote, “This is a sad day for America and for justice…This is again why elections matter, not just for president. We must vote up and down the ballot by November 3rd.” In reply to a tweet stating, “No officers charged directly in Breonna Taylor’s death; 1 faces 3 counts over shooting into neighboring apartments,” Trevor Noah of The Daily Show wrote, “If only the criminal justice system valued Black people as much as drywall.”
Today’s verdict is not accountability and not close to justice. This is the manifestation of what the millions of people who have taken to the streets to protest police violence already know: Modern policing and our criminal legal system are rotten to the core.”
American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) tweet
Remember that even this one bullshit indictment had nothing to do with the murder of #BreonnaTaylor. This was about shooting in to other apartments.#BreonnaTaylor didn’t matter to Daniel Cameron or to the Grand Jury.

RIGHT
The Right believes that the jury’s decision, based on “truth, evidence, and facts,” is fair and just. Conservative columnist Matt Walsh wrote, “BLM narratives are always false. Always. Never trust a word they say. They told us Breonna Taylor was shot in her sleep during a no knock raid. But she was not asleep, and they did knock, and officers fired only after her boyfriend shot first.”
“What happened to Breonna Taylor is a horrible tragedy, but for the Left to assert the officers came in to attack her in a blind and racist rage is a LIE, and to burn down and ravage yet another community over it is not justice and not acceptable.”
Tomi Lahren, Fox News host
The #BreonnaTaylor family atty LIED claiming 1) cops went to the wrong address; 2) Taylor was in bed when killed. FALSE. Cops knocked and announced themselves–even though they didn’t have to. Taylor’s BF shot and cops returned fire. NO MURDER CHARGES FILED.
