Attack of Oil Tanker
Two international oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz were allegedly attacked. The US stated it has sufficient evidence that the attacks were orchestrated by Iran. Iran denied all allegations.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that Iran has committed a “blatant assault” on oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday for the purpose of disrupting oil flow and consequently attempting to increase international tension.
“This assessment is based on intelligence, the weapons used, the level of expertise needed to execute the operation, recent similar Iranian attacks on shipping, and the fact that no proxy group operating in the area has the resources and proficiency to act with such a high degree of sophistication.”

Iran responded by stating that the US allegations are “ridiculous, but also very worrying and dangerous.” Abbas Mousavi, a spokesman for Iran’s foreign ministry.
