Media outlets are stating Joe Biden has won the presidency. As of Saturday morning, news channels were publishing articles declaring a “projected” Biden/Harris win, and Democrats and progressives across the nation were celebrating. However, the Trump administration has filed court cases in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, and Nevada, due to allegations of voter fraud, confirmed software glitches in dozens of counties, and other irregularities. Additionally, the Trump team has requested a recount in Wisconsin due to “razor-thin” margins and “reports of irregularities,” as well. It is said that the official results could not be announced until as late as January.
The Right says the election is far from over and the winner will not be determined until court litigations are complete. It is pointed out that the current situation resembles the Gore/Bush race from 2000. Gore was declared the winner by the media, but following litigations, Bush was actually found to be the rightful winner and was inaugurated in January – not Gore. Aaron J. Carpenter, conservative political activist and Marysville, Ohio, city councilman, argued, “Reminder: media stating that Joe Biden is the President does NOT make him the President-Elect.” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) tweeted, “When you’re breaking the law, ignoring court orders, counting ballots in secret & threatening to steal the presidency, it’s not ‘PA’s business.’ It’s America’s business, and we have the right to expect votes will be counted (1) fairly, (2) w/ transparency & (3) NOT in secret.”
“The media do not get to determine who the president is. The people do. When all lawful votes have been counted, recounts finished, and allegations of fraud addressed, we will know who the winner is.”Josh Hawley, Missouri State Senator
As of November 6th, Joseph Schmitz, attorney and former inspector general of the United States Department of Defense, noted that according to the true electoral vote count, Trump was actually in the lead. He wrote, “Unfortunately, for Joe Biden and most of his friends in the press, it’s all about the narrative – their false narrative. Truth does not matter,” and added, “The American people deserve honest reporting from the press whose freedom our First Amendment protects.” Political commentator Rogan O’Handley tweeted, “There’s a very big difference between #NotMyPresident and #NotThePresident. The former is a temper tantrum. The latter is the truth.”

The Left is celebrating their win. Saturday morning, every major news channel, including the Associated Press, CNN, and even Fox News, had published the election “outcome,” claiming that the Biden/Harris win was a done deal. “This is a day of hope, celebration, and new opportunities. A majority of Americans have pulled us back from the abyss into which Donald Trump has been plunging our democracy,” said Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX). Joaquin Castro, Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, congratulated “President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on a landmark election and winning the battle for the soul of our nation.” CNN’s Van Jones broke down in tears on the air after hearing the news, stating, “Well, it’s easier to be a parent this morning, it’s easier to be a dad, it’s easier to tell your kids, ‘Character matters. Truth matters.'”
“The election result suggests the promise of a new day, but it doesn’t guarantee good weather. There is still much work to be done to rectify the harm caused by this administration…Trump is gone, soon to be exorcised from office, though not from the culture of hate he so aggressively sowed and doubtlessly will continue to post-Jan. 20.”LZ Granderson, Columnist for the Los Angeles Times
