"Unequal Treatment: Contrasting Federal Responses to Similar Threats"

We have two similar mass shooters - one actual, the other conspiring - that we handled very differently by Federal agencies. In late January of this year Andrew and Angelo Hatziagelis, two brothers from Queens, were arrested in late January for possession of an arsenal of homemade bombs and ghost guns. The 39-year-old and 51-year-old brothers were indicted on a 130-count charge after law enforcement discovered a stockpile of weapons including improvised explosive devices, body armor, and a collection of AR-15-style and 9mm ghost guns in their family's Queens apartment.  According to prosecutors, the brothers had a "human sacrifice" hit list that included cops, judges, politicians, celebrities, and "banker scum." The brothers are currently facing charges, and the case is ongoing.  In contrast Audrey Hale, a self-described transgender man going by Aiden, entered The Covenant School on March 27th, 2023 in Nashville. Tennessee and opened fire.  The 28-year-old shooter, a former student of the school, killed three nine-year-old children and three adults before being shot and killed by Metropolitan Nashville Police officers. The shooting marked the deadliest mass shooting in Tennessee history. While the Astoria brothers writings were released the day of the arrest, Audrey's manifesto has yet to be officially released by any Federal agencies almost 1 year later. The question needs to be asked: does her presumed left-wing leanings or transgender identity play a role in the lack of transparency from our Federal law agencies? We'll let you the reader decide.
