President Trump Makes Bold Statement
The President tweeted that “Next week ICE will begin the process of removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States.” “They will be removed as fast as they come in.”
From the Left
On the one hand, this is likely presidential puffery. On the other, there is a new member leading ICE–Mark Morgan who has publicly declared his commitment to increasing deportations.
From the Right
The administration believes mass arrests would work as a positive deterrent against those (1 million) who have already received a final order from an immigration judge to be removed.
